Method to open "lightweight" drawing

Hi Folks,

Anyone aware of a method to open a drawing without loading parts or assemblies? We need to be able to do it to convert a drawing to .pdf format automatically on a server running a 32 bit OS. Our systems are all 64 bit so we don't really worry about file size but this conversion server is a problem. I was thinking about drawing snapshots but don't have experience with them regarding good & bad points. TIA!

Hello Rich,

to open the drawing without loading parts or assemblies, select Retrieve Drawing as View Only on the top right (button with plus sign and an arrow) of the Open popup window. This way last saved state of the drawing will be shown.
