Question
Pro/E 3.0 (& 1.9)
My first exposure to Pro/E was when the industrial design firm I worked
for hired another engineering/CAD firm to build several of our designs
in Pro/E for a client. This would have been around 1994-1995 in the
northern suburbs of Detroit. The consultancy had taken over an old
styling studio and the round 'turntable' rom was where the pro/E guys
worked. It was a windowless room with no overhead lighting, only desk
lamps. At the time it was thought that lower lighting was better than
overhead for computer work. It was like a cave.
I remember being fascinated by Pro/E, but didn't get to see much. Not
sure what version it was. It was 1996, though, when I started on Pro/E
rev. 16 (18 was out) with a new job here in Columbus.
It's interesting how little, visually, Pro/E changed from that rev. 3.0
screen shot to what I remember of rev. 18.
