07/27/2021 Remove some white space at the thread level

Requested for some time: we will remove some white space in several areas of a thread page. Below 3 sets of before, how much we removed, and after. This hopefully will limit the scrolling!

    @olivierlp,

    There still seems to be a lot of white space in certain areas:

    I think the bottom area might be a placeholder for objects like these:

    It would be great if you could figure out how to collapse all these areas when other items don't need to be displayed:

    @TomU, you are right. Let me give more details about the Community structure. There are a few important building blocks to consider.

    The category: they only contain other building blocks (see below). Like a file cabinet that contains drawers & files. It’s a way to segment the space into relevant subspaces.
    Ex: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric/ct-p/creoparametric

    The forum: general purpose for conversation, well suited for support type conversations and others.
    Ex: https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/bd-p/partassemblydesign

    The idea exchange: product improvement suggestions where the Kudo function is turned into a voting system.
    https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric-Ideas/idb-p/creoparametric

    The group: easily configurable for a short list of individuals regardless of their activity, rank, etc. Easy also to delegate the administration of the group to a community member without giving the keys to the kingdom.
    https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Community-Champions/gp-p/1671

    + a few others that we rarely use.

    The forums represent about 95% of the overall visits each month. Understandably, we focused first on this specific building block, reducing the white space at the topic level. This is where the vast majority of the members are. The reduction of the white space on the forums layout did not impact the other building blocks.

    I think the 1st and 3rd screenshots you show are for ideas, another building block. We'll work on it very soon to make it more compact, forum style. We also need to give some attention to the groups.

    In a couple of days, I'll share the improvements to be released next week. Stay tuned!
