Question

.PRT to .SAT Script

I have a large amount of .PRT files I need to convert in SAT.

I already know the procedure to do it manually : opening the .PRT, then saving as SAT.

However, I need automation. To symplify, I aim to take every .PRT files in a specific folder, and save them with the same name in another folder (or the same) under .SAT extension.

  • Is there a scripting environment in PTC product ? What are the key commands for this operation? Is there a tutorial?
  • Is there a specific plug-in or program dedicated to mass conversion?
  • Can we open and save files with PTC product via windows command? Using a .BAT could be possible?

I'm using PRO ENGINEER WILDFIRE V4.0

Good news @C_Ailliot

Creo is shipped with a utility to batch run it. It is called ptc dbatch.

An extensive article deals with it: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS139340

See the chapter called CREO BATCH aka PTCDBATCH

And to be more accurate you will need to create an ACIS 3D Export job (see screen capture)
