Creo 9 student installer does not run

The installer of any University approved version of PTC CREO (7.0.8.0 and 9.0.0.0) is not running with no error message given. The process simply terminates after a few seconds before a window is opened.

System Specs:

Windows 11 23H2

AMD Ryzen 3900X

Nvidia RTX 2080 Super

64 GB Ram

200 GB free SSD storage on C:

The only thing that I was able to do now is have a second boot drive with a second windows installation. Far from ideal.

The usual run as administrator and kill all unnecessary processes did not work. I also tried to install in protected mode but that failed, not because of the setup.exe not running but because of some required component being not available.

Hi,

1.]

What is full absolute path to setup.exe you are starting?

2.]

What language version of Windows is installed on your computer?

As recommended in a different thread I moved the installation files to C:\install

My computer is running on German Windows. Though I don't think that affected the installation as I was able to install CREO 5 and 7 previously during my Bachelors.

I did manage to create a memory dump file from the setup.exe before it closed if that would be of help for bug fix purposes.

Hi,

probably my last tip ...

  • open Command prompt window
  • run set PRO_LANG=English command in Command prompt window
  • run C:\install\setup.exe command in Command prompt window

No change. I still get the busy cursor for a second or two with the program showing up in task manager for that time only.

Hi,

2 tips:

  • antivirus activity ... turn antvivirus off
  • special network card available ... please upload ip.txt file created by Command prompt command ipconfig /all > ip.txt
