Can't install Creo anymore

Hello,
I'm currently working on Creo3.
I have a licence file for Creo7 (permanent) that I need for a new client.
I d'ont have subscription anymore.
When I'm trying to add this licence file (txt) while installing Creo7, installer seems to freeze.
File is for my computer.
Should I remove my previous licence ?
But I'm afraid to can not be able to work...
Thanks

Hi alls,
I gave up.
The only solution I've found is to reconfigure FlexNet.
I suppress Creo3 licence and add Creo7 when I need it.

Hi,

Q1: Is Creo7 license locked or floating ?

Q2: What network card is mentioned in Creo7 license ?

It's seems to be floating licence.
But I'm triyng to install licence server and Creo client ont the same computer.

Hi,

OK the license is floating.

Q1: What network card has assigned MAC address MartinHanak_0-1763731842041.png?

Please run ipconfig /all  in Command prompt and publish the output.

Q2: Is it Ethernet, Wifi, USB card?

Q3: Is Flexnet already installed on your PC?

Hi,
1/ this network MAC address is default Ethernet card.

Dom_CHENTRE_0-1764253553299.png

2/ Ethernet Card
3/ Flexnet seems to be installed.
It works with Creo 3.
For Creo7, I suppose that Setup Creo7 would update if necessary.
Thanks

License file intended for Creo 7.0 work mentioned in your reply from ‎2025-11-21 02:20 PM contains following lines.

SERVER __HOSTNAME__ PTC_HOSTID=80-FA-5B-4F-A4-FF 7788
DAEMON ptc_d __PTCD_PATH__

The file also contains following line.

INCREMENT PROE_EssentialsI ptc_d 39.0 permanent 1 \

License file intended for Creo 3.0 work must contain also following lines.

SERVER __HOSTNAME__ PTC_HOSTID=80-FA-5B-4F-A4-FF 7788
DAEMON ptc_d __PTCD_PATH__

Q: What INCREMENT line is contained in Creo 3.0 license file? Please publish this line.

If you want to run Creo 3.0 and also Creo 7.0 on your computer then you do not have to use Creo 3.0 license. You only need a Creo 8.0 license.

To implement this variant, the following steps need to be performed:

1.] uninstall installed FLEXnet license manager

2.] download installer of latest FLEXnet license manager

https://www.ptc.com/support/-/media/support/refdocs/Creo_Parametric/compatibility/PTC_LMS_Download.pdf?sc_lang=en

MartinHanak_0-1764263199458.png

3.] unzip downloaded file and run setup.exe to install FLEXnet license manager

... use Creo 8.0 license file

4.] run ptcstatus.bat from FLEXnet installation to very that PROE_EssentialsI license is available.

5.] Creo 3.0 ... open psf file in Notepad and and make sure it contains following line

ENV=CREOPMA_FEATURE_NAME=PROE_EssentialsI ()

6.] start Creo 3.0

7.] Creo 7.0 ... open psf file in Notepad and and make sure it contains following line

ENV=CREOPMA_FEATURE_NAME=PROE_EssentialsI ()

8.] start Creo 7.0

If it makes sense you can combine your two license files into one and use this new file as mentioned in Reply no.2 27-nov-2025.

New license file will contain:

SERVER __HOSTNAME__ PTC_HOSTID=80-FA-5B-4F-A4-FF 7788
DAEMON ptc_d __PTCD_PATH__

INCREMENT block of lines from Creo 3.0 license file

INCREMENT block of lines from Creo 8.0 license file

but when I'm trying to add Creo7 license file in Creo7 Setup.exe it freeze and never stop.

The above mentioned step does not make sense. This way it is not possible to add another license to the license file used by FLEXnet license manager.

Also Creo 7.0 requires FlexNet 11.16.2.1 or later. In contrast, to run Creo 3.0, version FlexNet 10.8.x is enough. That's why I recommended installing latest FLEXnet version.

Hi,
1/ it's a floating license.
2/ Network card ID is the the good one.
It works with my Creo3 license (same network card address).
but when I'm trying to add Creo7 license file in Creo7 Setup.exe it freeze and never stop.

So, I don't have subscription anymore.
I'm still have my Creo 3 (advanced) permanent  and floating.

With Isdx, Mdo, Mdx...
Now, I have to add an other licence Creo 7 Essential.
I wanted to install both, and having choice of licence with little menu as I've done in the pass.
Now, I'm using setup. exe for install licence.
I need to remove the other one and add licence file.
It works for Creo3 and Creo7.
But the other one doesn't works anymore.
I wanted to have choice
Here are 2 licence files...

Reply no.1 28-nov-2025

I uploaded merged_licenses.txt file. It contains two Creo licenses:

#PROE_EssentialsI 1 Creo Essentials Creo 8.0 Flt Lic perm
#PROE_EngineerIII 1 Creo Engineer III Creo 3.0 Flt Lic perm 3A320867

Now you have to execute following steps:

1.] uninstall installed FLEXnet license manager

If you do not know how to uninstall FLEXnet then send me list of installed programs.
Please read https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/3995739/how-do-i-print-a-list-of-all-installed-programs-ap page
a.] open Command Prompt as Administrator
b.] run winget list >c:\apps.txt command
c.] send me c:\apps.txt file

2.] download installer of latest FLEXnet license manager

https://www.ptc.com/support/-/media/support/refdocs/Creo_Parametric/compatibility/PTC_LMS_Download.pdf?sc_lang=en

MartinHanak_0-1764317932103.png

3.] unzip downloaded file and run setup.exe to install FLEXnet license manager using merged_licenses.txt file.

4.] run ptcstatus.bat from FLEXnet installation to very that both licenses are available.

5.] Creo 3.0 ... open psf file in Notepad and and make sure it contains following line

ENV=CREOPMA_FEATURE_NAME=PROE_EngineerIII ()

6.] start Creo 3.0

7.] Creo 7.0 ... open psf file in Notepad and and make sure it contains following line

ENV=CREOPMA_FEATURE_NAME=PROE_EssentialsI ()

8.] start Creo 7.0
