I would like to point out and discuss a problem that we have with RV&S:
The support period of 2 years is too short.
Explanation:
Normally, you do not want to install the first released version, but wait for a first patch to remove the biggest problems. This shrinks the 2 years of support to 18..20 months.
Additionally, a new release has new system requirements.
So we do not only have to update RV&S itself, but eventually also the server OS, the database, the database OS, the clients OS (and the according licenses).
This makes every new release a major IT task with regard to time AND cost.
We as a medium-sized company have problems to manage these 2 year update periods.
