Hello,
When I downloaded a trial version of Thingworx and installed on Ubuntu 18.04, after installing the pre-requisites, and when installing Thingworx, I am getting the following error:
Failed to Install dependencies: chef client.
Is there a platform specific problem of Ubuntu not being supported currently?
Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
The free trial installer does not work on Ubuntu. It is supported on CentOS and will likely work on other Linux distributions based on Red Hat Linux:

I have the same problem and also agree with @vasan that the solution you refer to is not a real solution. It's hard to be motivated to use this software if one has to do hacks like that and use an OS that isn't even on the list of supported OSes..
