Question

import entities from a file and i get this error

Hi, i'm trying to import entities from a file and i get this error:

 

com.thingworx.common.exceptions.InvalidRequestException: The User being set to the 'Run As User' value is invalid. Cannot proceed with changes.

Hi @xotzHelper,

 

Starting with ThingWorx 8.4, Timer Things require a user be set in the runAsUser field. Ensure the user specified in the imported Timer Thing exists in the ThingWorx server before proceeding with the import.

 

You can also manually update the runAsUser field in the exported xml file and set it to an existing user in the ThingWorx server.

    Hi, thank you for the response. I imported users and user groups first, but it still gave me the same error.

    Hi @xotzHelper,

     

    Can you verify the user running the Timer thing(s) was successfully imported?
