Cannot promote related or unrelated objects that exist in different folders at same time

PTC states that this can only be accompished if all objects reside in the same folder, Intralink 3x didn't care where the objects were located, if they were related and displayed with the parent in a Locate window all could be promoted at once, now many promotions replace one step promotion.

If you perform an advanced search and constrain the search to a product
you can select objects from multiple folders and initiate a promotion
request from the search results.

Jeff, this is the problem, you are confined to a Product on a Promotion,
new designs usually contain new library objects as well, and most of us
have Products and Libraries, if they are related via assemblies, then all
should be available to Promote on form just as in intralink-no?

Typically Library objects have a different approval process than Product
objects. For most customers I work with the only Library objects that
the general user has access to are already Released.



With that said, I do see the need to allow for the promotion of objects
across containers.

The WC promotion actually works better for us. For us a Promotion Request should only contain one part number and the files for that should be in the same folder.
