Windchill PDM Essentials run on Windows 10

The minimum requirements (see below) for PDM Essentials state that Windows Server 2008 R2 or 2012 R2 are required; however is it possible to run it on a PC running Windows 10? I would assume performance degradation as well. Has anyone tried this?  

 

Server Software Requirements
• Windows Server:
◦ Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit (Standard Edition or higher)
◦ Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit (Standard Edition or higher)
• Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 7, Update 51 or later
• Windows update for Microsoft Universal C Runtime

After trying to run the installation, the Windchill Installation Assistant detected that I am not running one of the supported operating systems and will not allow me to proceed with installation. Unless someone else knows of a way to circumvent this, it seems it is not possible to do the installation unless running Windows Server 2008 or 2012.
