They don't both return the same error because there are two different parsers, MarkIt (SGML) and Xerces (XML). Like the Help says, MarkIt may allow some constructs on which Xerces will return an error.

I'm working with Arbortext 5.3, CPA 1.4 and have a 62-sheet illustration. The fig and subfig tags are working fine as far as autonumbering the sheets. However, in the auto-generated table of contents, the figure is listed by its title followed by "(Sheet 1)". Why? The sheet number is not entered in the figure title tag-it is auto generated by the subfigure. Is this output standard or is there something I can do to fix this?Thanks.Kathy Reisler

Hi all, I am running IsoDraw 7.0 M010. I'm trying to run the batch extension on a macro command line, but it crashes if i specify a macro.im using the syntax spec'd in the manual:Extension sPlugIn "-s" + sSourceDir + " -d" \+ sTargetDir + " - m" + sMacroNameNote the space after the dash before the "m" flag. this is obviously wrong. but ive tried it every way i can think of. It works fine if i dont call a macro. Thanks in advance. if any of you guys are using this functionality sucessfully i would love to know about it. Kevin

Editing a document in Arbortext 5.3 with CPA 1.4. When I tried to accept all the changes, which I had successfully done earlier in the day, I got a message: "Cannot accept the change because it cannot be marked up by using CPA change markup or attributes."Anyone know what this message means and how I can get my changes accepted in the document?

Hi All,I'm wondering if anyone has run into a similar issue or has ideas towards resolution... I have successfully connected client side Arbortext (5.4 M060) to Windchill (9.1 M050) using my machine. I am running into problems getting another user connected from their machine, but am able to connect from mine using their Windchill log-in. On the client side, both set-ups use identical userprefs.xml pointing to a common network located siteprefs.xml. User is able to browse to and read the siteprefs.So I'm a bit stumped... any insights are greatly appreciated!

I'm doing a macro that writes values to a text file and it's not working properly. Intention is to give me an estimate of the time saved using each macro.The last bit of the line below doesn't work - (macro_1_count * 5)fwrite write_file_name macro_1_name + ',' + macro_1_count + ',time-saved-' + (macro_1_count * 5)If the line isfwrite write_file_name macro_1_name + ',' + macro_1_count + ',time-saved-' + macro_1_countIt works fine, but as soon as I try to put the calculation in it, it doesn't work.macro_1_count is defined as a float, so is does IML not allow calculations within some commands? If so I'll have to add an extra line in my macro to create a variable for the write string.For a macro like this, where there are several variables for each macro, it would be better if the values were stored in some sort of array or table - is there something like this in IML? I'm currently evaluating 38 macros, so there are a lot of variables to create.

Hello Adepters,I would like to delete attributes from a table on paste using 5.4M070. For example when copying & pasting a row, delete @id on all elements including row, entry, and para. I have tried:1) ACL paste callback that modifies xml in buffer_doc2) JS AOMPaste event that accesses pasted xml using relatedRangeI've learned from testing and the forum, table markup is not accessible by object id when formatted (table markup is off).With ACL, using oid to access the table components I saw the behavior:(1) if an entire table is copied/pasted, all attributes on elements are deleted as wanted;(2) if a row is copied/pasted, only the para has the attribute deleted. Interestingly, if a row is copied the paste buffer row is wrapped in table markup.This behavior makes sense because the table and para tags are displayed in the Editor, unlike the other table markup that is hidden. Since object id (oid) does not work, I speculate accessing the table object id (toid) of the hidden parts migh

HiI am trying to use the 'Helvetica' font in isodraw 7.1 but it is not available. It is not in the system fonts, but it is in Microsft Word. Also it is in the following Arbortext Editor folder:C:\Program Files\PTC\Arbortext Editor\pstill\PSFontsGranted this location is not Isodraw but still can anyone help me here - do I have to buy the font or is their a way for Isodraw to access this font from the Arbortext editor location?Many thanksAlan

I'm wondering how you use the 3d transform command within macros.I want to let users set a rotation angle and then click on x, y or z icons to rotate that amount on a 3d drawing.Problem is that macro help doesn't explain how it's used.The syntax is just:3D TRANSFORM 3d-matrixand the example is:#stretching the drawing to double size#along the y-axis3D TRANSFORM 1 0 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0I can't find any reference to this 3d-matrix - how are we to know what each number represents?I've recorded some macros setting the Y angle rotation to 90 degrees but this hasn't helped me understand the matrix any better as it comes up with:3D Transform 0 0 (-1) 0 0 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 1No record of 90 degrees in that matrix, so I guess one of the numbers - "1" or "(-1)" must refer to the 90 degrees.

Hi,I have 2GB physical RAM. I had 2048 MB virtual memory. I was able to setdiffmemory to 5000. I doubled my virtual memory to 4096. If I got anythingout of this change, it is only incremental ... I have just run atdiffmemory=5200. (diffmemory=5200 might have worked before my change, I'mnot sure if I tried it). Hi All,My customer has 3 or 4 users who access Arbortext Editor frequently and also frequently work across a range of workspaces rather than just one and are experiencing problems with the speed of connecting the Editor to the ACM in order to browse for content.Their workspaces correspond to different categories of content which are held in different context Libraries as follows: Mechanical Engineering Marketing SalesThe delay occurs when the user is connecting to the Context (Library) after clicking the Finish button or changing Workspace.For instance a user estimates it takes him 45 seconds or more to connect to the Marketing Library. He works most regularly in this folder and therefore has the most cached work in the workspace.They have asked users to connect on their own PC using the administrator's login details and they connect noticeably more quickly, also if connecting as themselves on a different PC there is less delay which is leading them to think this problem is to do with

Hi everyone,We're in the process of switching over to a new server (Arbortext PE 5.3 patch M190 on a Windows Server 2003) and most languages are working ok with the exception of Chinese Simplified and Korean.I've done some comparisons of the setups between the two servers and everything from font timestamps, to ccf/pdfcf configurations to FOSI's all appear identical.Our print doctypes are FOSI-driven. The Korean FOSI does not specify any font family names, rather just the font style, size, posture, etc. We rely on tfontsub.cf to map the Korean fonts ("windowsonly:" section):#Korean:Serif/kor -> BatangSanserif/kor -> DotumMonoser/kor -> BatangCheMonosans/kor -> DotumCheWe have manually reinstalled the Batang and Golim TrueType font collections (which include the above named fonts) and rebooted the server. Our illustration group is looking to move to the use of lines with arrows for some of our dimensional callouts (we've used dots in the past). One of the problems that we've run into is that the request requires the use of 1/2 point lines. Utilizing the preset start and end options we're are not getting small enough arrows for the purpose.Is there a way to set another end style? I see there is a range of 0-46, but no way to add or alter one. I have a feeling this may be an SPR, but wanted to pose the question to the community first. If anyone has a solution, please let me know.
