Is there a way to make callout text wrap? Please see attached jpg -- this is what we need it to do. Sometimes it's just 2 lines sometimes it's more.  Thanks in Advance!

So, I am writing several manuals in Arbortext, and I have to go into the XML afterward to manually change all the graphics paths from absolute paths to relative paths. This is annoying and time consuming. Is there a setting I can change so that Arbortext always defaults to using relative paths, instead? I have to do this for multiple documents that all have different file/graphics paths. Thank you.

Hi, Did anyone work with ACD -  Arbortext content delivery (formerly called as Servgistics), which falls under the deliver model of the overall create-manage-deliver thread. Any insights or documentation references on its business case and possible integration with Windchill would be helpful. I would like to understand if there is a way to downstream data from Windchill to ACD for various stakeholders reference. Thanks in advance.

One of the main reason is, DCOM configuration is missed, and it can be set by reading this Help Center topic Configuring Publishing Engine Post Installation Post that restarts Tomcat Services and retest the use case

By: Manpreet Singh - Senior Product Technology Lead, PTC Arbortext manpsingh@ptc.com  Question Arbortext Publishing Engine does not Identify Apache Tomcat from the system even it is successfully installed Answer Installation Path will be blanked but Tomcat is already installed in the system   At the time of installing Tomcat keep the Windows Service name as Tomcat8 because by default, the Windows service is named is named Tomcatn, where n is the major release number of Tomcat (for example, Tomcat8.5). Do not rename the Tomcat service because the Arbortext Publishing Engine Configuration utility will not be able to find it. Having a different name prevents the ability of Arbortext Publishing Engine Configuration to start and stop the service. Hello! I am attempting to modify numbering behaviour for a division level 2 element. My customer has a requirement for this element (applied to sect1 in the Docbook DTD) to start at 00, then increment by five for each new sect1. So, 00, 05, 10, 15, and so on. As the only increment available is by one, I have been investigating the APP Funtion Numbering module in Styler (currently at 8.1.2.1). Seeking advice from any Arbortext Developer in C++ who has successfully accessed the Arbortext IDOMEventListener class. Objective, add a custom left mouse click to the interface. There are no ACL calls for the mouse interface.Attached is the Class view in Visual Studio V2022.There is one undocumented page, C++ sample in the knowledge base shows AttachListener in 10 lines.    Any advice  welcomed will share the magic.

Arbortext requires a PTC Author, PTC Windchill Base, PTC Windchill Advanced, or PTC Windchill Premium license.” when connecting from Arbortext Editor(client) to Windchill Server despite that user has the VALID license?   Answer Step 1: Add that xxx user under any of the above profile mentioned in the snapshot/CMS Diagnostic dialog in Windchill > Site > Profiles > License Profiles and search for these license profile. Below is just an example for adding the user under ‘PTC Author License profile’     Step 2: Click on ‘i’ button and then edit the group   Step 3: Click Next and then click ‘+’ for adding that member/user  

Getting Error "Unable to obtain a license for optional component PTC Arbortext Composer". This is for Arbortext 8.1. The Department manager has purchased floating licenses for about 12 people, most of which work remotely..

Hi Gang,Have an annoying problem when opening an AutoCAD drawing in IsoDraw 7.4. When I open the drawing I notice there are several lines shooting out in all different directions. When I activate the line I will notice one is snapped to another line, the other end is just floating out in space. I can select the endpoint of the line in IsoDraw and connect it to the point where it belongs with no problem. My question is why is it doing this action. I look at the AutoCAD drawing and the lines are in the correct location in the initial drawing. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue and how to correct the problem?

Hi,which default graphic processor is used by the editor to display graphics of any format. For example the docbook applicatoin allows different types of graphic formats. I wonder which tool is used to display them in the editorThanks for help.BR, Pia  

Hello everyone, has anyone deployed Arbortext Editor in Azure? I am working on setting up a FlexNet license host triad (using 3 Windows VMs) to host our floating licenses. I assume we will deploy Arbortext Editor itself using Azure Virtual Desktops (AVD) where a license can then be checked out from the license pool by the user. Thus far I've hit communication issues between the FlexNet hosts that I'm trying to resolve by looking into networking and license configuration. I just wanted to check with the community to see if this was done by someone else in Azure or perhaps in AWS and if they have any high-level guidance. Thanks!

Hello,I am working on an APP stylesheet in Styler 8.1.2. The XML (Docbook) contains some simple ordered and itemized lists - when I preview or publish to PDF, long lines which wrap are causing the entire sentence to drop down by one line relative to the item.The code that produces the above is as follows:  <orderedlist> <listitem> <para><?Pub _font Posture="italic"?>Line 1<?Pub /_font?></para> </listitem> <listitem> <para>Line 2. I've been using Arbortext Editor for a while. We've set up the system to be able to make translation packages and save/interact with Windchill. Once the translation package is created, the files (bookmaps, concepts, procedures, references, etc.) are saved to a local folder. Is there a way to see what the pdf of the new pdf of this book before putting the files back on Windchill? The issue I'm having is the page breaks in the English file don't always work for the translated book, because usually the other language has more letters/words than English. The page breaks for Spanish, for example, don't line up and end up looking really bad for books that are completed and saved & released on Windchill, but I can't figure out how to see what the pdf is going to look like before putting it on Windchill (which releases the files as if they are totally completed). I can publish English files while creating them to see where page breaks need to be, no problem.

I upgraded to Arbortext 8.2.0.1 and now see that my topicref titles are appearing as zeros in my bookmaps. This occurs in Column View only.  I ran the "Update Stylesheet for Editor", but no change.  Ideas? 

Hi Gang, I was working in IsoDraw 7.4 and I noticed that my "Layers" window would resize the width. I looked at the IsoDraw_7.4_Prefences.prf but was unable to decipher the formatting. Here is what I see when I open the preference file;Usually I will a starting comment line showing the structure of the section, it does not show in this instance. Could someone please tell what the numbers represent? I don't want to go changing numbers and just see what happens. Thank You,Keith 

Ok I think I am having a brain fart here! I have updated to IsoDraw 7.4 when it is installed this is what my banner looks like. In my preferences I have load 3D CADprocess load at startup checked.What I need to do to get CADprocess to activate in my IsoDraw session? Keith 

Hi Gang,Just updated to IsoDraw 7.4 trying to set things up and had a couple of questions. Where are the toolbars located in 7.3 and where should they go in 7.4? Where should the ISM files be located in 7.4? I have accumulated several macros over the years and want to be sure I can access those files.  Is there a file high archy located anywhere so I can see the file structure of IsoDraw? Thanks,Keith

Our stylesheet caters for our whole manual to run in a two column layout. So if I have an illustration that is in a table (page wide) and the topic has a long title (heading), the heading runs over to the second line, which looks odd (see below). How do I change/edit a [concept type] topic to be page wide?    

This release supports the ability to run Editor or Styler 8.1.x.x and 8.2.0.1 on the same system. It also contains bug fixes.   8.2.0.0 will no longer be available for download.   PTC recommends that customers who have previously downloaded 8.2.0.0 should uninstall 8.2.0.0 and move to 8.2.0.1.
