In the process of upgrading to Arbortext 6, I overlooked the fact that Ineed to recompile my old DTDs to support our prior editions. However,when I went to the Tools menu, "Compile Document Type" is not present.Does anyone know how to get this back, or what the preferred approach isfor 6.0?Thanks,keith

Adepters:One of our authors using AE 5.4, patch M080, found a new way to get around the lack of a text entity in their list of those available from the text entity dialog. Simply copy and paste one from another document (that uses a different set of text entities). Well, AE 5.4 sees this as no problem and simply adds the new text entity declaration to the doctype header, making the document valid. Unfortunately, our CMS process strips the entire doctype header before checking the source back into the repository. Of course, the next time it is checked out, the document is no longer valid as the text entity reference is not defined.My question, is there any way to prevent AE 5.4 from allowing this sort of action? Basically, we want to prevent any local text entity declarations from appearing in the doctype header.Thanks,Dave

I get [A17120] Assertion failed: dt, file../src/dt.cpp, line 1925I know the paths must be blown out, how do I fix it? Some command linething?Feeling stupid.d

I now have multiiple versions of Arbortext editor on the network. Ihave a custom folder for each version. I want instead to place eachversion of the doctypes folder inside the custom folder like~/custom/doctypes-5.2 and ~/custom/doctypes-5.3 and so on...I will place in the custom folder all the versions of the doctypes. Iwant the ACL init file to read the version of the editor and doconditionals to set a variable for doctype location. Really the onlydifference for each version is the DTD need to be compiled.I do not know the name of the doctype variable if any. I can figureout the rest.

We just set up a new server to run PE 5.4. I can compose using our customized FOSIs but when I try to compose using LOGSA XSL files version 1.8, I get the following errors (The error log is very long so I just copied the tail end) See attached text fileI cannot figure out if it is a setting inthe e3config.xml file, java, or TOMCAT.THanks. I've had this problem (in 5.3 and 5.4) when the PDF version was too high orwhen the PDF had security / was passworded. Using the right version orremoving the security always fixed that problem.I normally use PDF version 1.4 (Acrobat 5.x) with no security but that'snot working in the new version. I just tried PDF version 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x)which had some encryption on it. It failed on the encryption and logged thefailure. The 1.4(5x) PDFs get no mention in the log (which I have set to0/DEBUG for the TOC so the log is showing a lot) so it doesn't appear to beaware of failing. Now I've tried both 1.6(7x) and 1.5(6x) with noencryption and they both fail to get and publish the title to the DMPimage's TOC.Hmm.-- Paul Nagai

Help! Can anyone tell me how to make sure that the Arbortext Editor (v6.0 F000) Import a document dialog remembers the location of the mapTemplate files separately from the location of the file to be imported. It only seems to remember the last location used which is very annoying as the mapTemplates and documents are in different locations.Also is there any way to configure the default file type to be docx in this dialog.Thanks in advance.

Hello all,I've searched the forums for this issue and haven't found anything that matches my problem.I'm upgrading from 5.4 M080 to 6.0. I'm currently testing with 6.0 M020. I have an index generated at the end of my file in Editor. My engine is FOSI.In my output PDF, I've lost all of the columns in my index. The entries are there, but they come out in a single string instead of 2 columns. Also, in Editor, the entries used to be in a single column and are also in a single string (line).I've looked at the release notes and I don't see where anything may have been changed with this functionality so I'm feeling like a bit lost. All-in-all, the upgrade has been very smooth aside from this issue.When I preview from Styler, I get the following error on all of the psuedo index tags. If anyone has any guidance on this issue, it is much appreciated![A12552] WARNING (indexing): No e-i-c found in FOSI for pseudo-tag "ixalphagrp*", used in final index. Index formatting may be affected.

Hello all.I am upgrading from 5.3 M040 to 5.4 M100 and have noticed something odd.In one of my FOSI stylesheets, I use the system-func attrule to call an ACL function and set a savetext as the return value. This function has resided in the instance.acl file of this particular doctype and has never given me trouble (I also use it to load doctype-specific menus with no issue).Upgrading to 5.4, and loading a document that uses this FOSI, causes an error that the function used in the FOSI has not been defined. The custom menu was added. I moved the function to the custom\init and all was well again.Anyone have any ideas here?

I have one question related to DCF file. Using ElementOption in DCF we can hide the unnecessary elements from insert list of the Arbortext Editor view. Actually it hides the element from all the places over the document (top to bottom of DTD contexts). But I would like to hide the elements based on the particular context. Not on all the places.For ex. I would like to hide few elements from insert list (e.g. <menucascade>) under <note> but not under <p>..How do I accomplish this? Could you please help to find the way!.

I have to click and drag to select a word, previous version of arbortext would let you doubleclick to select a word.Is this perhaps a hidden preference setting?Any ideas? (we are version 5.3)

Until recently we generated Word and unstructured FrameMaker docs. Now the government wants SGML docs written to 38784STD-Bv8a, which is the DTD the government has developed and supplies from their TMSS website.We recently purchased Arbortext Editor release 6.0 (Pine). I got it installed on one PC, and have gone through the editor tutorial. Now I am trying to figure out how to get the editor to work with the DTD.I have no structured authoring experience and don't know what to do next. Hi,We are in the process of implementing Arbortext 6.0 with DITA (upgrading from previous version of Arbortext and non-DITA DTDs). We want to use a central image web server to manage our image files and reference them in the DITA topics using URLs (e.g., http://myserver.com/digitalasset/cnt070794.jpg). To do this we tried setting an image element to have href="http://myserver.com/digitalasset/cnt070794.jpg" and scope="external" but this is causing an error during the completeness check:ERROR: Dita reference "http://myserver.com/digitalasset/cnt070794.jpg"on image element in "Document1" does not refer to a dita/ditabase document.This error doesn't happen if I insert the same image URL in a non-DITA document in Arbortext 6.0, so I'm assuming it's part of the enhanced DITA completeness check. Does anyone know how to get this error to go away? Is there another attribute that we need to set besides scope?Thanks,Jessica
