What setting do you need to modify to get output close to adobe distiller. When using the standard.appcf the file size is 300 mb for the manual I am publishing. I would like to replicate the standard and press quality settings used in adobe distiller. I have looked in the help, but I am not sure of all the settings that would need to be adjusted.Thanks Bryon

Hello， I use the app layout when it is now the xml file into a 3d file layout, but the changes in the 3d file is not synchronized to the xml,does the app has this feature can be 3d file layout changes in the synchronization to xml document?

In a document I save the title of a svcproc tag every time it appears into a string and append it to the previous one. At the bottom of the page I want to set this combined value of the string in the footer. then I want to clear it so that on the next page I can begin saving only those title that appear on that page to set at the bottom of the page. I can save the variable using append=1, my problem is finding a way to clear it after pagination so I can start saving again.thanks for your help

Hi folks--We have a customer who would like the black in their PDF output to be pure black (in CMYK terms, all K, i.e. 0,0,0,100%). By default, black is rendered as composite black (a combination of all CMYK colors).I have found how to change it for particular contexts via APP source edits, but I'm hoping someone can point me to a more direct way to configure APP to always map "black" to CMYK: 0,0,0,100). Is there a way to redefine the color "black" and/or the default color in a single place in the stylesheet, either directly in Styler or via APP source edits? Ideally this would also apply to things like table borders and header/footer rule elements.Thanks.--Clay

In the Layers Window in IsoDraw CADprocess 7.3, how do I display a list of entities, such as curves, text, etc., that reside on each layer?

I've used the old version of Arbortext APP (3b2) that works on MS-DOS, and it was possible to change the direction of writing in the yellow edit bar from (left to right) to (right to left) in order to write in the Arabic language and to use Hindi digits instead of Arabic digits.Is it possible to change the direction of the text in the yellow edit bar in ArborText 11.1 2016 just like the old versions?

The default charset in Arbortext APP is ASCII Latin 1 1250 and I want to change it to ASCII Arabic 1256? How can I achieve it?

I'm looking  at deploying Advanced Print Publisher (both client and server) in a VMWare environment. I see in an Arbortext PE installation guide some statements to  the effect  that  PTC doesn't explicitly support running PE in virtualized  environment but I can't find any discussion of whether APP works ok in  VMWare. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any gotchas? thanks for any suggestions/experience you can share!

Dear Users,I am using APP Publish and the phrase  " 40°C (104° F) should look as is in a single line in my PDF. But whats happening is 40°C is in previous line and (104° F)  appears in next line.Example :• The temperature for the equipment in a closed or multi audio rack assembly should not exceed 40°C (104°F).How to fix this , so that meaning full word like degree stays together .Regards,Sriram Rammohan

Just started a new job, and due to a PC upgrade (and subsequent hard-drive wipe) I had to re-install Arbortext Editor 6.0. Because the old license files were deleted in the upgrade, I requested and received two license packs (text files) from PTC. Are there any instructions on what I do now? (I've used Arbortext in the past, but have always had admins to handle licensing issues.) Thanks in advance!

Hi:We are in the process of upgrading to PE 7.0... current environment is 5.1V. The XSL-FO style sheets that are used and work well in 5.1 - providing desired PDF formatting results are now displaying PDF outputs with lots of large spaces. I discovered that the spaces are due to optional elements / scenarios that are accounted for in the DTD and evidently in the style sheet as well. We have finally figured out how to connect Arbortext and Windchill together, able to checkout ditamap and dita files, modify them and check back into Windchill.Is there anyway to connect Isodraw and Windchill together to modify isodraw files, the same way Arbortext and Windchill work together.I know within Arbortext, importing the Arbortext files for the first time, you can "save as server object" on the ditamap and dita files, it will upload the linked .iso files.  But again, if you want to modify the .iso files, how to checkout the .iso files, modify them and check back in to Windchill, just like arbortext files?

While publishing the bookmap is it possible to have list of tools specific for the procedure?is it possible to create a tool table in bookmap, for the tools which are refferec in topics under the bookmap?

How can we populate the New Document window with new objects that we'd like to support for DITA? We've updated the ditabase.dcf file to include the new values, but when we select File > New, the values fail to display. Our goal is to see the new objects in the list, and upon clicking on it, an XML template opens and allows authors to start creating content.

How to give cross reference to a table in a topic to another topic of the same bookmap? I have used Xref tag and given the href as the table id, format as dita, scope as local, and type as table. But the link was not working. Also is there any way to directly search and link the table using the resource manager?

Pressing Enter displays the tags available at the cursor location. For me, a long "tall" list appears. For certain tag locations, this list extends well beyond the vertical limit of my monitor. Is there a way to show this Quick Tags list as a horizontally cascading group of columns so it goes "across" my screen (as shown below)?  I'm using Arbortext Editor/Styler 6.1. Thanks!

Hello All, new to the board, so any advice would be appreciated.I'm trying to recreate our parent company's approach to our PTC solution, however our communication with them is limited.In doing so, I can begin to revise their approach and procedures for our needs and build our Windchill ditabase. We receive their XML files for our manuals, and I obtained a copy of their custom folders with their stylesheets. I also received their bursting rules. When I try to burst a book from the map level, it comes back with an error saying, "Cannot modify the following attributes: lang, because they are not defined. I'm still a novice, although I have gone through all the AE and WC PTC courses I can go through, but I'm not sure where to fix this issue. The attributes are defined in the bursting rules, I see language under the attribute root in the Type and Attribute Mgr in WC, and it is a valid element attribute in the dcf. Where shouldI look, or should I post this in a better suited forum?ThanksAno
