Check manufacturing rules on 3D model in Creo 2

Hello all,

Do you if there is an alternative to "geometric DFX" from DFMpro ?

I am looking for a tool (for designer) that is able to :

  • Verify Creo2 3D model during design stages if 3D model are compliant with manufacturing and quality rules for sheetmetal, plastic, machining.
  • Help designer to identify where are errors (in the 3D model).
  • Remind rules when there are errors.
  • Give access to settings
  • Export a report

I think it's got a unique position to be honest. All the other checkers that i'm aware of fall into two categories neither of which seem as advanced as Geometrics toolset.

a) Meta-data filling out/basic templates abided by/geometry abides by VDA standards

b) Semi-Manual inspection for a particular process (e.g. mold fill, draft check)

The closest other tool i know of that pulls out 'geometric features from the 3D' to then rank them on some axis is aPriori (costing tool).

I assume you're aware of the old school sheetmetal rules in Creo?

I'd love to hear if my belief is wrong and there are indeed other tools out there that do this (resellers chip in!).

    I do agree with Christopher.

    But at the same time, can PTC look for a in build extension module for the same?

    Even I am looking for the DFM rule checks in Creo during design phase itself.
