This month’s challenge has a civil engineering theme – actually, a bit of an ancient civil engineering theme related to my adopted home of Valencia, Spain. One of its most famous landmarks is the Torres de Serranos (Serranos Towers), one of the last remnants of its medieval wall:Torres de Serranos in Valencia, SpainIn this challenge, you will perform some of the same calculations that master builder Pere Balaguer worked on in the 1390s. Except, of course, you have the benefit of modern software for engineering calculations. Specifically, you will perform analysis of the Gothic arch at its entrance:Gothic Arch Gate Entrance to the Torres de SerranosDimensions and assumptions:The arch is a classic three-hinged arch mechanism. The span (horizontal width at the opening) is 6 meters. The height from the spring line (where the arch transitions from vertical support and begins its inward curve) to the apex hinge is 4 meters. It carries a uniform dead load from the floor above of 45 kN/m acros
Our new Creo Community Challenge focuses on two powerful tools that are already included with your base Creo installation: the Advanced Framework Extension (AFX) and the Intelligent Fastener Extension (IFX). What the Challenge Is AboutAFX (Advanced Framework Extension) helps you quickly design structural frameworks using standard steel and aluminum profiles. It simplifies the creation of frames, supports, and welded assemblies, and makes it easy to modify your design as it develops. IFX (Intelligent Fastener Extension) lets you insert industry-standard fasteners such as bolts, nuts, washers, and screws, with automatic hole creation and intelligent placement. It ensures that your fasteners fit correctly and that your assemblies look realistic and complete. The challenge is to combine AFX and IFX to design something practical, creative, or just plain fun. The goal is to show how these two extensions can work together to build realistic structural assemblies with automated intelligence. C

PTC is hosting a webinar in early September about using templates in PTC Mathcad Prime. We want to promote how thoughtful template use saves users time and are great for efficiency. We’ll be going into quite a bit more detail than the basics of putting your company logo in the header. While our internal PTC expert presenters will present great insight, you may also have great use cases or experiences that we haven’t even thought of that all Mathcad users could be inspired by!In this thread, please share or describe your Mathcad Prime templates and how they help you: be it function libraries that you regularly reuse, or sophisticated set-ups for accelerating the creation of client reports. (Note: This is a public forum; please don’t share your confidential or critical intellectual property. I may also collate your responses and share them in a PTC.com blog at a later time so everyone can benefit from best practices!)

Using Creo 10 on Windows 11. How do I write the metrics and reports to a user folder using the config_init.mc file? Target Directory“C:\data\<username>\Creo10\mc_report” Some details that may help. 1) We do set a username system variable that I could key into.2) The “Creo10” folder level is the working directory which we set. Do I focus on the NT or not labeled options.DIR_REPORT_NT or DIR_REPORTThanks for your advise.
PTC hosted two live webinars about Mathcad Templates back in September 2026.“Build Once, Reuse Always: Mathcad Templates” promotional imageYou’ll learn about how Mathcad templates work and why you’ll want to use them. Our PTC technical experts shared best practices to get the most out of templates, going beyond the basics. We strongly encourage beginner Mathcad Prime users to watch this replay to accelerate your Mathcad adoption and greatly speed up your ability to make new projects in Mathcad. We published the recording of the September 10, 2026 session by Ioana Cernat; it’s now available here. You will also find the presentation materials available for download (several Mathcad files and a PowerPoint / PDF presentation), as well as written responses to the live Q&A we had from the sessions.
Hello,I purchase the student licence and accidentally activated it on mi pc but i need it in my laptop. When I try teh suggested student licence transfer steps, It verifys my product code and then says my account does not have the privilages to perform the licence what can I do?Any tips or ideas as to how to solve it would be greatly appreciated.
I am trying to sort a column of a 2D repeat region table, how do I do this? The 2D repeat region table is derived from a family table. I do not want to change the way the original family table is sorted. I would also like to re-order the parameter name columns in the table. I am using Creo 2.0. Thanks for your help!
This might be an “us” issue but we have an issue where the internal browser for Creo (version 9) is defaulting to the wrong SSO authenticator for Windchill when we try to connect Creo. We are in a company transition so our server exists on our old corporate network which we have opened up access to. On our laptops, we are logged in as users in the new company. In Chrome or Edge, we are able to create dual profiles in those browsers and leverage “other user” when connecting to Windchill. No issues so far. Also most all users do get this option in Creo and it has worked. Where we have seen this is if the user tried to connect with new company credentials and browser remembers it. Clearing cache seemed to fix this. I’ve tried all the steps in Creo to clear the cache, remove folders, to try and reset things but no luck. https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS368331?source=searchSteps above did not work. We have removed the creo9ws folder and recreated it. Is there someplace else I can l
A preview of something that is being tested within CREOSON, looking for feedback and ideas.Keep these questions in mind as you read:Do I (or my company) care about my data going to someone else’s AI / Cloud? What use cases, processes, interfaces cause pain today? How could this change my day? Why do I care? The intent is to provide a FREE AI MCP (Model Context Protocol) interface within CREOSON that enables your AI Agents to connect to and drive Creo Parametric either as a specific set of contextual tasks - or within the context of other systems/environment workflows (e.g. YOUR models, standards, documents, EPR, PLM, etc.). Seems like this would be super powerful, and provide a lot of utility. This screen capture is an example of an AI Agent validating a connection to a new CREOSON MCP Endpoint (prototype currently). CREOSON - AI MCP Endpoint First Connection Test ResultThe CREOSON MCP Server enables you to choose/bring your own AI (Commercial Platform or Local AI). The screenshot abo
I want to scale M(x) equation by a scalar (0.805). Is there a way to do this without making my expressions unitless? After searching online for info about the error statement, I could not find a workaround. Note: whenever 0.805 is not applied to M(x) the equation graphs properly. M(x) is defined in kip-ft.
Hi, Anyone suggest me a way to save all drawings in a folder to save as pdf. If i have 20 Drawings in a folder in 'drw' format. How can i save all drawings to pdf in batch.
Hello everyone,I have encountered an issue in Creo Parametric 11.0.2 that has been bothering me for many years. I hope someone can explain the reason or provide a reliable solution.I want to display the model mass in a drawing title block or a regular note, rounded to two decimal places: &PRO_MP_MASS[.2]For example, if the actual mass is: 0.058it should normally display: 0.06However, sometimes it displays: 0.058[.2]In other words, the value of PRO_MP_MASS is correctly retrieved, but [.2] is treated as plain text instead of being interpreted as a decimal formatting modifier. What is even stranger is that if I edit the same note and temporarily change it to: &PRO_MP_MASSAfter confirming, I edit it again and change it back to exactly: &PRO_MP_MASS[.2]it may immediately display correctly as: 0.06During this process, I do not modify the model, material, or mass properties. I only re-edit the note. This issue can occur both in the title block and in regular drawing notes, so I susp
I would like to READTEXT from text file which would form a two-column matrix. That part is easy. Then I would like to copy the contents of the first matrix to a second matrix, then use that second matrix for other purposes, but unlinked to the first matrix.
Hi everyone, Reference topic: Midnight Theme not loading from default. | Community has anybody figured out how to change icons when using Midnight theme? Most of them are OK as they are, but some (such as Edit references) are almost indistinguishable from the background. I found the folder, where the icons are stored (Common Files\text\resource), but unfortunately it seems, that when Creo starts, icons are not loaded from here. I also tried deleting creo_parametric_customization.ui files in CommonFiles/text and in Start folder, but to no success. After trials and discussions with AIs, it seems that the only way is to create small mapkey macros for all such problematic icons and replacing system icons with custom ones where I can use my light variants of the icons. Is there some other way that you know of, how to do it easier?
Hi everyone,When I try to integrate a custom family table into IFX, I am unable to select a length, only the thread size. The parameter LG does not seem to be readable. However, I cannot find any errors in the .PRT or .DAT files.I have attached my original files. We works with Creo 8.Perhaps someone can help me?Thanks in advance.Best regards,Peter
This month’s challenge is a part design problem based around curves and sweeps: Using part modeling features, design a twisted wire pair that passes through at least three non-planar points. (Bonus) Using Flat-to-Screen 3D Annotations, create parametric notes so that a user can modify the twisted pair. For example, diameter of the wires or rate of twist (similar to the pitch of a helical sweep). Is your modeling robust enough to handle dimension changes? (Extra) Model 2, 3, or 4 twisted pairs that travel along the same trajectory, similar to a CAT6 cable. (Super Challenge) Can you make two twisted pairs that twist around each other? Post a picture or pictures of your work as well as the models. Indicate what version of Creo you used. This challenge is based on a technique I saw in a PTC newsletter 20 years ago, so this can be done using a standard license of Creo (or even Wildfire or Pro/ENGINEER). Note that this is NOT a cabling challenge; you should use part modeling featur
We are upgrading from Creo 10 to 13 and noticed mapkeys where removed from the config.pro in Creo 11. In Creo 10 we have a global config.pro on a network drive that is loaded when users start Creo and can be updated by the admin at any time. In Creo 13 (11 and on), the admin mapkeys only seem to work when being stored in C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 13.4.0.0\Common Files\text\mapkeys.pro. This makes changes difficult and requires updating the file on every users PC to make a change. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and any potential solutions would be appreciated.
Hi allIs there a way to show the names of user selected datum points in drawing views?Point Names coming from point cloud as these:Can be listed in hole table like this: but should as well showing up on a drawing view unlike this, because here I cannot specify the location by my self and I can not deselect unused points.and I do not like to activate the option, becaus this is a user setting and the names need to be on the drawing all the times. Does any body know a way to do it in a way that the names in the point cloud is linked to the name on the drawing view? Many thanks in advance for your inputs.Pius
We are planning to use some AAX extensions to our global licensses PROE_DesignEssG.Is that possible and how can that be achieved fo specific selected users.
