Parasolid File Problems
In Creo, we create a lot of very large files (can be 1km is size) but they also have tiny features (in the order of a few millimetres). These are for export to use in Star CCM+ CFD software.
The "best" filetype to use is Parsolid, however when importing to CFD, the assemblies can be quite faceted (think 50 pence) around the rounded ends (the overall shape may be a running track). There isn't a setting with Parasolid export for "fineness" - but is there an upgrade to the export set-up/command?
The problem is when there are layers of parts stacked up, the facets don't match.
However, interestingly, if the same Parasolid file is imported into ANSYS/FLUENT, then exported as another Parasolid file, then imported into Star CCM+, this work-around method works ... the facets line up nicely!
This isn't efficient - hence looking for a better Creo Parasolid export
