Question

Datum on Diameter Dimension Same Side as Value

Hello,

I am using Creo 9 on a windows laptop. I want to place a datum callout on a diameter dimension. However, creo automatically puts the datum on the witness line opposite the dimension value. How do I get them to be on the same side? This has been very frustrating, and I don't understand this limitation in the least.

Thanks,

You should post your model and drawing; without it we have to speculate on what you are working with.

If you move the diameter dimension to a view where the feature is a circle, does the behavior change? How are you creating the datum tag? This may have something to do with the behavior.

Simple example of placing a datum tag on a hole diameter dimension. If you follow this example, do you see similar results?

Hi,

The files are attached. The video doesn't seem to solve my problem because the diameter is shown from the side instead of straight on.

Thanks,

Is this what you want? Why are you not showing the diameter in a view where it is shown as a full circle on the drawing?
