hatch pattern

hatch pattern

Someone today asked me if you can find out what specific hatch pattern that a component is using? I am at a loss. I'm on Creo 8.

Just as an example on one of my drawings, I have whatever the standard hatch is, just iron.

I personally don't care for my drawings, but I'm just trying to help someone out.

On an existing drawing, can you interogate the hatch pattern and determine which one each component is using?

From what I recall seeing, it seems that if a material is assigned to a part, it will use the hatching associated with that material. But, it seems that the angle, spacing, etc. of the hatching will be assigned within the view in an attempt to make each hatching pattern somehow unique. It doesn't seem to be done with any regard for a particular part being the same as another identical part (i.e. I have six of the same cap screw, but each has a different hatch).

I wish there were a way to specify a hatching pattern for a part that would be the same whenever it is in a section view, so there'd be some sort of consistency throughout the drawing.
