SIP Architecture

Hello,

One question came up from a client who is very particular about data processes.
I understand that AWS will host the user's contact info and do the enterprise management. For the Chalk sessions themselves, does AWS function as the SIP server? Is there a SIP server somewhere that routes the call between contacts?
I need to be able to precisely map where the data contact points are - thanks for understanding and helping.
