AFX Libraries

We have started to explore the Framework add in with creo.  We noticed that the 8020 library is missing a LOT of sizes and components.  Is this actively updated?  Is it our responsibility to add in the additional sizes and components to meet our needs beyond the basics that is available?

Thanks

Hi @jchance,

I've asked the community what is required, but got very little feedback. Usually we implement new components when customers require them and sometimes we even add them to the base library.

We can also provide some guidance on how to create custom components.

What components do you need (Prioritized list)? Maybe we can create them.

Greetings Sam

Hello @SamuelBrantner
I was searching about the same topic. Is there a way to have the metric library of 8020 just as the inch library?
I've already added the metric profiles, but adding all the connections and plates is somehow tricky.
Also, the custom-made metric profiles I made have a problem that basic joints aren't applied to them (for some reason, I didn't find a solution for), only advanced planar joints are valid there.

So, if there's any chance these libraries to be made, or at least some guidance on how to add them efficiently to the afx library?

Mainly the 20,30, & 40 series for my application.

I was able to Copy the existing 8020 profile folders and modify them to make similar 30 and 40 series usable profiles. Unfortunately they are not EXACTLY the right slot shape as the parameters that automate the AFX functionality requires some pretty heavy duty relations strings that I haven't been able to comfortably master. The profiles I made only modify the dimensions that already exist in the 8020_INCH shapes so it's missing a few flat features, and missing dimensions from the 8020 drawings drove me to make a few assumptions.

We have tested and used these though and they work.

I'm working on corner brackets and t-nuts as well. the Bolt Kit in the AFX extensions is not super useful when trying to generate a cut list and a BOM.

I was able to find some pretty clear instruction on adding these to a "customization" folder and routing it appropriately online.
I saved it here on my own PC:
C:\Users\*user*\Documents\AFX CUSTOM\customization\parts\profiles
Then in the advanced setting on the Frameworks tab, you can route it to the "customization" folder, and this will pull it into your library.
(after you close and reopen Creo)

Hope this helps.
