Question

An image loaded in a .drw file is not visible in the exported .dwg file

Hello, I have a drawing .drw in which I have to upload a .jpg image, then I have to export it in .dwg and send it to another person.
This person can not see the image in the .dwg because he doesn’t have the original image.

Is there a way to share the .dwg containing the image without sending also the .jpg to the other person?
I would like to incorporate the .jpg in the .drw and not to upload it as a xreference.

ps. I’ve already activated the save_texture_with_model options in config but it doesn’t work

Thank you for help, I look forward to your answers

Best regards

Hi @AF_11949635

I think config in article at https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS208576 will help.

Thanks.

When exporting a drawing with an inserted image to DWG or DXF, the image saves as an additional image file (JPEG/PNG). That image file needs to be shared with DXF/DWG.

Try having the image in the location of DXF/DWG and import in Creo.

Set config save_texture_with_model to yes.

There is always more to learn.

Set config save_texture_with_model to yes.  Set to no, the file only remembers where to find the file on your computer.  There are other implications with setting this that I have commented on in the past.  This will increase the file size and save all images in all files saved with it set to yes.
