BUG: Drawing views will NOT update when a Simplified Rep is updated. MUST delete view and replace.

Creo 8:  Well, ain't this peachy.  Got a large assembly in a couple different configurations/Reps (some parts not used in certain Reps), and if you create the dwg view using a Rep, but then change the Rep at the assy level, the BOM will change but the dwg view WILL NOT.  Replacing the Rep for that view, or everything else I tried, DO NOT WORK.  The only thing that worked was DELETING the view, and putting a new General view in it's place. Nice, especially since it's a large assy with a bunch of sheets.  So, my "Pro/WORKAROUND" is to NOT make dwg views until you are 100% sure the Reps won't change.

Must be all that "Enhanced Functionality" PTC keeps crowing about when they waste time giving us confusing new interfaces, but spend zero time fixing bugs...you know, like that "split cylinder" BUG, or the one where threads don't show up in the model except in wireframe viewing mode, or.......

Anyone else run into this issue?

I haven't ever had trouble with a rep updating on a drawing view. I don't typically use on drawing BOMs for my "large assemblies" because we don't have a one to one creo model to bom so they don't really work for me.

You know all these things I'm going to list, I know it's not your first rodeo:

Don't forget to save your rep when you change it in the model...I've made that mistake too many times.

Double check that rep changed is the correct rep for the view...I've made that mistake too many times.

Make sure you are regening the drawing, I have mine set NOT to regen the drawing automatically, so I have to do it manually. you may have that setting also

There are probably more of the simple reasons that I can't think of right off hand.

Hey Steve!

Unfortunately, none of that works.  This appears to be a known issue in looking at it, I found post online about it.  I even found where PTC listed it as something they weren't going to fix.  I'd hoped it would have been fixed in Creo 8 instead of just "Bold New Graphics!"....but, no...

Maybe it'll be fixed when we go to Creo 10?  Oh, wait....

I'm on Creo 8 now and on a large assy drawing currently. I can test on mine.

Specifically, it's a drawing view with a Rep and a BOM table specifically for that rep. And you are changing components in the rep on the assy.

Its not updating the views but updating the BOM.  Is that the idea or am I missing something?

It'll probably be tomorrow morning and I can give it a whirl
