Change Model Accuracy in Bulk mode

Hi,

 

Is it possible to set the model accuracy of all components in an assembly to "Absolute" at once?

I tried creating a mapkey, but it requires opening each part one by one, which is a tedious task. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi,

if you are accustomed with creating of trail files then you can generate trail file which opens all parts and subassemplies one by one into separate window and changes their accuracy.

Custom program or ModelCheck to do that sort of bulk change.

I've always used a mapkey.

The danger of trying to do this in a batch fashion is that, in my unfortunate experience, sometimes switching the accuracy to absolute when the modeling has been done in relative accuracy can result in a failure of the model when it attempts to regenerate. Relative accuracy allows a variety of sloppy results to persist; it is more forgiving of poor modeling.

    Anything with an import or inheritance is more likely to fail with a change to absolute accuracy.

      Yeah, and many times models that have multiple surfaces with interfacing rounds will change topology, like number of surfaces to handle a transition, and cause a lot of dependent features that use those surfaces to fail. Where you scratch your head and decide, hmmm, maybe I'll deal with this after another coffee.

      You can automate this with Creo distributed batch which runs a mapkey on every file you pass it and then save the file after regeneration. However, I would not recommend this because it could render your geometry useless changing accuracy at a mass scale without a human taking a look to see if the file regenerates is a problematic case.
