CREO 13 Sheet metal DXF export: include thickness in filename

I’m using the new flat pattern dxf export feature in CREO 13 and so far it is working very good.

However to further automate my workflow, I would love to include the thickness and possibly the material in the filename.

In the export dialog, I tried setting the file name to:

&model_name_&smt_thickness

but that gives an illegal characters error.

 

Is there any way to do this?

 

Additionally it would be convenient to export any parameter as text like you can export width and length currently.

There are several ways do accomplish this…

Here is a video doing pretty much what you are looking for.  It uses Nitro-CELL (which you can use for FREE)…

 

Another option would be to use CREOSON - and code something to do the same thing.

    Sorry for the slow followup and thanks for your reply.

    While this would (probably) work well, it’s a bit overkill for my use case.

    So I will stick to manual naming for now.

    Same here. I wanted to name the dxf with my own parameter corresponding to the parts reference, but it also gives me an illegal character error. It’s a bit strange, the naming suggests we can use parameters but in fact we can’t !
