Question

Creo crashes more often since new graphics card has been installed

Hi All,

Recently I replaced my graphics card for a Nvidia RTX 4000 card. Since then Creo (8.0) tends to crash way more often. At first I had my doubts whether Creo is using the card or grabs back to the onboard card but in Creo the system information tells me it is using the RTX card. Any idea how I can figure out what causes this crashes? Is it coming from Creo or could it be the card itself?

Thanks in advance!

Bart

Do you have the latest driver for the graphics card?  You may also need to try a few older drivers to find one that works well.  The latest is not always the best for Creo.

There is always more to learn.

Hi,

go to https://support.ptc.com/partners/hardware/current/support.htm page and then click By Product > PTC Creo 8.0 > English > inside document HP graphic cards. In https://support.ptc.com/WCMS/files/175687/en/HP_8.html look for RTX 4000. You will find out which driver version were tested.

As @MartinHanak suggested, get the driver from your computer mfg if you are using ISV certified HW. Do not get the latest from Nvidia by default for supported equipment.

Thanks for these suggestions. I'm using the latest driver indeed so this might be the problem. I'll try an older one and see waht happens!
