Creo Parametric Drawing: Restrict Section Arrows to the Correct Parent View

Hello PTC Community,

I would like to know if there is an option in Creo Parametric to restrict the placement of section arrows to the appropriate parent view in a drawing.

Consider a drawing sheet containing three projected views and a sectional view created using a datum plane. To indicate where the section is taken, I use the Add Arrows functionality to display the cutting plane and its direction on the corresponding parent view, for example, Section A-A.

However, Creo also allows me to place the same section arrows on another projected view, even when that view is not the intended reference view for the section. From a drawing standards and documentation perspective, this can lead to incorrect section representations and confusion.

My question is: Is there a configuration option, drawing setup setting, or other functionality in Creo Parametric that restricts section arrow placement to the correct parent view and prevents users from placing the arrows on unrelated or inappropriate views?

Ideally, Creo should identify the valid view for the selected section and allow the arrows to be placed only on that view, thereby helping maintain drawing consistency and compliance with drafting standards.

I would appreciate any suggestions, workarounds, or configuration options that could help achieve this.

Thank you!

Consider a scenario Where you have placed three views namely Front, Top and Right.

You need view Section A-A on the right view.

Technically, the arrows can be placed either on the Front or on Top View. Both are appropriate views for Arrow placement. Hence, Creo expects you to choose the view where you wish to place the arrow.
