Default hole placement type

Hello !

Using Creo Parametric 9.0.3 here.

When I am creating a hole, the default placement type is Linear.

Is there a way to change this to something else, like Sketched ? I have looked for a config.pro option but found nothing so far.

In the past, when things like this come up - wanting a default behavior for which there is no configuration setting - the suggestion is usually to define a mapkey. Store the picks that lead the hole placement to be what you want as the default, name the mapkey something, then use that when you want to create a hole. It’s not as nice as just setting a default, but it’ll get the job done.

Creo Parametric 12.4.0.0 adds something called “Feature Presets”.  These will let you set up a default configuration for many features, including hole features.

Good idea KenFarley !

Developping Mapkeys should become a reflex for me.
