Description
  • How to specify a feature name as a parameter?
  • Is there any system parameter which will call out the name of a feature?
  • Is it possible to create a note based on the feature name?
Applies To
  • Pro/ENGINEER all releases
  • Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 all datecodes
  • Creo Parametric 1.0 all datecodes, 2.0 all datecodes
Cause No system parameter exists to show the feature name in a parametric note.
Resolution
  • Not part of Creo Parametric functionality
  • To request this functionality, refer to Product Ideas @ PTC Community
  • Workaround, use one of the following :
    • Develop a Pro/TOOLKIT extension
    • User has to create a feature parameter first, using Tools > Parameters  look in > Feature and select the feature  in model tree and give the parameter name you want (hole i.e), then use the syntax &parameter_name:fid_XXX (with XXX is the feature ID).
