Sometimes, when creating an assembly drawing, some components show up in Pink or Purple. These, no matter if there is something in front of them in the view, will show in the drawing (screen and  pdf).

 

The item in pink is parametric, not a dumb solid. Is there any root cause for this to happen?

It's a surface model instead of a solid model.

You can set the config options:

HLR_for_quilts YES

 

If you are using a section in a drawing view, you will need to edit the properties on the section in the model to "include quilts"
