There anyway simple to identify what part is suppressed in a mammoth .asm?

At the top of the model tree you can get all suppressed items highlighted.

use the find tool.

In your case, it's a feature, not a part. (based on your screen shot

You can also set the display of suppressed items in the tree to be the default. I did this years ago because a lot of the models I am forced to delve into were done by people who would suppress many many things and not clean up after themselves, which eventually would cause lots of "phantom" components in drawings, assemblies, and sometimes weird circular reference nightmares.

I don't remember how I set it but a search on here will probably tell me...
