Hide layers in an assembly view
Hi,
I know I'm old and still use Proe WF4 + Intralink 3.4, but
I have a question that maybe can be resolved.
Even though I have Creo and PDM Essentials, I don't use Creo because I find PDM Essentials inflexible for my situation, but I've already explained the problems in other posts.
This is the layer problem.
I have a drawing with 5 or more views where I've customized the layers on and off.
The layers on and off are the same for each view.
With PDM, I swap a part in the assembly, where the AA layer is hidden, with another similar part that also has the AA layer.
In the parts, the AA layer is always hidden.
Once I regenerate the 5 views in the assembly drawing, the AA layer of the new part is visible again, while the remaining hidden ones remain hidden.
Now I have to manually intervene on each view and re-hide it.
Question
Even though the two parts are practically identical (small, non-essential things like rounding and dimensions change), why does the layer reactivate in the assembly drawing?
Why does a layer hidden in the part reappear visible in the assembly drawing while, correctly, it remains hidden in 3D?
To avoid doing this for every single view of the assembly drawing is it possible to hide the layer in a single operation by selecting all the views and simultaneously hiding the AA layer?
I haven't found a way; it only hides in the last view selected.
Thanks
