Question

How to check whether the a bolt fits into a hole in an assembly

This may sound trivial, but is there any way to check whether the size of a bolt is correct for the hole it is assembled to?

For example, if we assemble an M4 into an M3 hole, there will be interference (could be checked with global interference). What if we mistakenly assemble an M3 into an M4 hole? Is there any way to detect it automatically?

Thank you in advance.

no, not that I’m aware of, but you could be using intelligent fasteners perhaps as it makes the process easier.
