How to Convert an Existing Sketch into a Cosmetic Sketch in Creo Parametric 9.0

Good morning everyone,
I’m working in Creo Parametric 9.0, and I’d like to know whether it’s possible to directly convert a standard sketch into a cosmetic sketch, without needing to recreate the geometry from scratch.
So far, I haven’t found a straightforward method, I'm wondering if there’s a dedicated feature or workaround that allows this kind of conversion.
If anyone has experience with this or knows an efficient solution, I'd greatly appreciate your input.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Few quick steps:

(1) Modify existing sketch.

(2) Save As, with whatever file name you wish.

(3) Close sketch.

(4) Engineering->Cosmetic Sketch

(5) Import your saved sketch.

I believe this is the simplest means you will find to do what you want. You don't have to recreate any of the stuff in the original sketch. It's not a "one button and you're done" but not many things are.

Depending on how complicated the sketch is, or what references are needed, you could try editing the standard sketch, saving it to its own file, which has a .sec extension. Then create a new cosmetic sketch feature and use the "Import" button on the ribbon to bring in that saved sketch. It will allow you to place it, scale it, rotate it, etc. I've used this many times to put our company logo on parts for engraving.

Thanks for your reply and the detailed explanation. The sketch is actually quite simple—it includes instructions for machine zeroing and the serial number marking position. However, since this issue keeps recurring with old parts, I’m looking for a solution that can perform the conversion in just a few quick steps, to streamline operations while revising the models.
