How to determine the largest sphere inside a volume

Hello.

I am struggling with the following. I need to find the largest sphere inside a volume. I attach an example.

The volume of the example is the result of the merge of two quilts, solidified. I have tried with measures, analysis and bmx features but with no success. Maybe i am not using the correct tools and someone knows a better way to resolve this...

I can't say what the largest sphere is, but I can help find it's center.

Essentially, remove an identical thickness of material from the outside until only a tiny volume remains. That is the place where the largest sphere is centered. The radius of the sphere is then the amount of thickness removed.

Create surfaces that are offset from the outside surfaces, preferably using a parameter to drive the value of the offset and look at the intersections between the surfaces. For arbitrary volumes there may be multiple locations (such as in a box or egg carton) where a sphere may lie.
