how to do merge inheritance of a surface type hollow iges model ?

i have a .iges model of a component and i have to cut a block according to its surface. but when i use merge inheritance (cut) to the block it shows error report as shows in the attachment .

  kindly suggest me is there any assembly constant error or anything else.

also i need the process how i can make a cut out same as the component body.
