How to make welds look realistic?

Any ideas on making welds look realistic? I've tried decals but I need to set up different materials for different length welds.

Hello Rob Newell

in real word got welds accidental shape along its lengh. Its very complicated in Creo, because all textures are repeat many times.

In my opinion there is only one option how to make it more realistic: BIG textures library and spend long time in rendering mode...

On the other hand ... is it needed to make welds realistic?
