HOW TO REMOVE PART FROM BOM TABLE BUT NOT FROM MODEL

I have a specific case where a part is present in the model but i am do not want it in the BOM table. Unfortunately the part is referenced by a lot of other parts hence suppressing or deleting it is not an option. I tried to strike through for the person reading the drawing to not add it but its weight is added in the total. I want that to update. Any ideas?

If you don't want a particular part in your BOM table, consider table>repeat region>filter>by item.  If you don't want a class of part in your table, then 'by rule' instead.

Simplified rep of the rep and then remove the item from the BOM table. That will not add the weight to your assembly weight, yet allow you to see it in the views for reference.

Hi Ben,

Can you please elaborate on the procedure of doing it? Because the problem is when I select that particular item in BOM table there is no option of either delete content of delete the row. How can I then remove the item from the table? Also how do I do simplified rep of the rep?

If you take this approach you are not going to be able to assembly balloon a drawing view that includes an image of the BOM item you're trying to ignore.  Automatic balloons can only be applied from BOM tables to views of the same simplified rep.

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for the help. It was very simple and straight forward.
