I want Creo to open in L:\Projects\Creo_Files instead of C:/users\Me*\OneDrive\Documents

My problem seems a variation on the one queried by the OP.  I want Creo to open in L:\Projects\Creo_Files instead of C:/users\Me*\OneDrive\Documents.  I am able to make l:\Projects\Creo_files a working directory in the environmental section of the configuration options, but that doesn't do it. I tried making the L:\Projects\Creo_files a start directory as a Property in the shortcut in windows 11, but that didn't work either.

What should I do?

No company, stand-alone machine. I suspect problem is with OneDrive interecepting ProE's default start directory.  My guess is most other systems are on company networks which don't allow one-drive access. I'm going to kill it and see if that fixes problem.

Thanks foir the thoughts.

The way to control the starting working directory is to change it in the shortcut that you use to start creo.  Change the Start in: line to L:\Projects\Creo_files.  Copy the file path from file explore to ensure there are no mistakes.

As I posted above, I did that. I thought it would work but it doesn't.

I should add that there is no config.sup in my system which is a stand-alone fixed license.

What is your shortcut pointing to?  Some companies write their own wrappers that eventually kickoff creo.  Please share a screenshot similar to what @kdirth shared.
