Importing an assembly legacy file of ProE to Creo Parametric and exporting as creo part files

Hello,

I imported a CAD assembly into Creo and now I want to export the assembly as a creo asm file. Would it be possible to export all files in that assembly as a creo part file? Please see the image attached. Also, I noticed that when I export it is only the assembly not the parts within the assembly is there a way around this or is this the extent of exporting?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Stephen_DeLeon

Your issue is two-fold.

  1. an assembly file points to component files so an asm file (if it is the top level assembly) needs part files or other asm files (sub assemblies).
  2. Creo enables to concatenate component assembly component into one file by different ways:
    1. if you need to / can remain in PTC environment : Creo enables to  create a inseparable assembly or a shrinkwrap
    2. if not then you might as well save the assembly as a step file
