Issues creating a plug weld.

Creo Parametric 10.0.5.0

 

I am trying to create a plug weld. I have had success with several on one side of the weldment, but when I try to create the plug welds on the opposite side the weld seems to project to the opposite side. I have tried using the opposite surface of the red surface, but it just projects to the opposite side of the weldment.
