Menu Manager Pop-up when editing table fields

When editing a table field, with a parameter in it.  Creo will open the menu manager first before the editing pop-up, which is rather annoying.  It seems to be random when it opens the manager first instead of just opening the editing pop-up.  This is an extra and rather annoying step when you get the pop-up.  What causes this?  I have had this annoyance since Creo 3.  Creo 3,7,8,10 seem to all be random when it chooses to pop-up the menu manager.  Does anyone know how to solve this?

    It's hard to guess without any other context but I'm guessing the "random" part of this is related to family tables. I get this menu manager popup when i am editing a part that is an instance of a family table.

    I think in the message window, it will say Part is an instance and may take some time to regenerate, do you want to continue or something like that.
