Modelling soft materials in Creo

As per this thread.

I know this is a very old post, but I recently ran across some troubles trying to model a part that was to be wrapped in fabric and am struggling to find a robust way to make a flat pattern from the wrapped component. Creo doesn't seem to like areas that would otherwise be "folded" as you'd see with soft materials, and the relief options when trying to use sheet metal also aren't much help.

It would be great if there were a way to simulate a soft material as thickened quilt to wrap around another component.

For the time being, I am modeling the part as desired for the final product, and taking measurements to manually make a "cut" pattern, With the cut pattern I am hatching an area where pleats and relief would be allowed and asking our supplier to determine how best to wrap the part.
