NX Simulation files managed through Work Group Manager

When "Adding to Workspace" simulation files associated with NX the WGM places the .sim file in a folder named "filename.prt.dir" instead of the name being "filename".  Is there a way to define the folder name where the secondary content files are put?  It is preferred/ideal to have a preference setting in the WGM “my settings” to set the default secondary content folder name.   This way the system can be set  up with a good default value as well as having the flexibility to allow the users to change it.  When WGM creates "filename.prt.dir" and places .sim files here the simulation files are not recognized by NX.
