The Position:
The Machine Science Group of the Technical Services Division seeks two designers experienced in equipment packaging related to the Oil and Gas industry. Preference will be given to compression equipment and process equipment. Design will be accomplished either on Cadworks or ProEngineer, and encompass the entire configuration (spools, vessels, skids, rotating equipment, P&ID, etc). Design activities will include solid modelling and drawings, but limited to process schematics, mechanical and structural components. Mastery of ProEngineer during the first 12 months of employment will be required, if not already possessed at the time of hiring (autodidactly). The positions will NOT lead to a management track, and be located in Calgary, Alberta.
Target qualifications:
- At least four years of direct experience with the design of oil and gas package equipment and components described above, using Cadworks, ProEngineer or SolidWorks;
- Degree from an accredited technical institution in Canada;
- Demonstrable skill sets in skid design, vessel and piping design, and assembly modelling, compliant to pertinent API and ASME codes;
- Demonstrable knowledge in the design and drawing creation of weldments;
- Work experience with packaging manufacturers in Alberta;
- Registration as CET in Alberta
