Creo community,

Is it possible to change the sort order of start-part parameters while
creating a new part in Creo Parametric?

The parameters are not displayed in the order specified in the start
part.

Brad,
You can define the sort in the rp_config.xml file, where you can also define the column widths that you want when you launch the parameter window.

Where is this file located at? I searched the creo2 install point and did not find it.

Is there a similar file for Wildfire?

Thank you,

When you're in the parameters you create one by doing File/Save configuration as... and rp_config.xml is the default.

Are you using PDMLink? If so, write some relations in the start part that
calls PDMLink parameters. This will automatically fill in Creo 2 parameters
and reduce the risk of user error inputs.

Example;
CAGECODE = PTC_ORGANIZATION_ID

I know of at least 5 relations that will automatically fill in Creo 2
parameters so the user doesn't have to even worry about them any more.
