Has there been any advancement on this issue? It has been 4 years since this post. I am still in search of a solution for this.

      We create a straight assembly for the cable that we use for documentation purposes.  

      We then create additional assemblies that end in RTXX for each physical variation of the part.

      This is used frequently for battery cables and electrical parts that have flying leads.  

      I work with the harness design part of the process rather than the mechanical design part.  Unfortunately, I don't know the details beyond these rough basics.
