Regarding the direction of decomposition lines in an exploded view

When I create break lines for bolt heads and connecting holes, the cylindrical surface has no directional selection, so sometimes the break lines connect directly, while other times they connect with a bent line from the back, making it look messy. Has anyone encountered this problem, and how did you solve it?

This has been an issue for a long time.  I usually try again changing the pick location on the bolt.  The only fool proof way to ensure the direction is to use axis to attach the offset lines.
