Question

Repeat region: identify wire harness/cable.

Hello, everyone.

The challenge is: How to identify wire harness/cable components directly from a repeat region.

Version: Creo 10.

Assemblies, parts, and skeletons can be easily identified from the common repeat regions. Then, piping and sheet metal parts can also be identified from their unique parameters.

Is there a way to idenfity cables/wire harness components from their parameters or properties?

- By clicking "Bill of materials" button from ribbon, we get the .txt file with cable details, but this is totally useless for general BOM purposes.

- Adding a new parameter is not feasible, considering the "universe" of assemblies/parts that would need to be revised. Then, not this way.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @ER_10382549

There are report parameters that are specific to cabling and harness models as well.

https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r10.0/usascii/#page/electrical_design/cable/about_parameters_in_report_tables.html#

Hope this helps,

Mike

Hello, Mike!

I have tried one by one all the parameters in the page, but nothing worked.

I am using syntax: &asm.mbr.parameter. Is that accurate for cabling/harness?

Regards.
